General objective of the project: Development and modernisation of airport infrastructure at Tuzla Airport, accompanied by measures to protect the environment and reduce the negative impact on the environment (mounting of oil separators, beacon with solar lamps, measures to bring the land to the initial state after completion of the works), contributing to the increase of the number of transit passengers by at least 24,000 persons compared to the year before the submission of the investment project, within a maximum of 5 years from the completion of the project implementation. The general objective of the project mentions the measures to protect the environment and reduce the negative impact on the environment, contributing to the achievement of the result indicator in LIOP – 2S13 Passengers boarded and disembarked in airport transport, i.e. reaching the programme indicator 2S17 – Modernised airports. The general objective and the specific objectives of the project “MODERNISATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIRSTRUCTURE OF TUZLA AEROPORT” are consistent with the specific actions and objectives OS 2.3 Increase the degree of sustainable use of airports and the eligible activities provided by the Applicant’s Guide and the programming documents for European funds in the field of air transport. The financing project for the development of the airport infrastructure and the project objectives are linked to Priority Axis 2 Development of a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system, Investment Priority 7c – Development and improvement of environment-friendly transport systems, including low-noise and low-carbon transport systems, including inland waterways and maritime transport systems, ports, multimodal connections and airport infrastructure, in order to promote sustainable mobility at regional and local level. Thus, the investment project “MODERNISATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIRSTRUCTURE OF TUZLA AEROPORT” will generate the following benefits at regional and national level: the development of the air transport system on the Romanian coast that respects the environment; — assimilation of the increase in passenger air traffic in Romania and the South-East Region; — increasing the number of aircraft and aircraft types that can be served; — increasing the number of operating days/hours; — increasing the safety in operation; — the possibility of developing new facilities in the aeronautical field (freight transport, aircraft maintenance, etc.); — the economic development of Constanta County, the coastline – especially in the southern area, with implications in increasing the number of jobs and reducing unemployment; — the development of tourism in the Romanian seaside area and the surrounding areas; Annex to ED Decision 2017/021/R Certification Specifications and Guidance Material for Aerodromes Design CSADR-DSN Issue 4 of 8 December
