The objective of the project is to improve the safety of rail traffic on the Romanian railway network. As a result, CNCF “CFR” SA’s strategy on traffic safety installations provides for the modernisation of electromechanical centralisation (EMC) installations using recent generation equipment, which would respond primarily to safety, operation, reduction of maintenance personnel and maintenance costs. The project contributes to the achievement of the general objective by: * safe movement of persons and goods. * eliminating the costs generated by possible railway events that cause the poor state of EMF installations * the increase in the efficient operation and maintenance of the railway network in Romania The overall objective of the project is the realisation in 7 railway stations of the EMF installations, which remains unchanged, being achieved within Phase II (POIM 2014-2020) The existing CEM installations are worn out morally and physically, while not having all the repair works performed, especially due to the fact that there are no suppliers for spare parts anymore. Reducing the time between two revisions, due to pronounced wear and tear, leads to high maintenance costs. These installations require a much higher number of staff compared to other types of installations emerging after their generation. As a result, CNCF ‘CFR’ SA’s strategy on traffic safety installations provides for modernisation using equipment of a recent generation that better meets safety, operational, reduced maintenance personnel and maintenance costs. This investment project is part of the long-term strategy of the National Company and the implementation of this project will contribute to improving the attractiveness of the area, increasing the traffic and movement of persons and goods, as well as creating new jobs.
