The objective of the project is to transfer knowledge from the research entity to partners in the economic environment for the realisation of an innovative CAES (Compressed Air Energy Storage) energy storage facility through the use of screw compressors. The secondary objectives deriving from the main objective are: •The realisation of a pilot energy storage station highlighting the increase in the performance of the energy system by introducing energy storage in the form of CAES allowing entry into the energy market with innovative and high-performance products worldwide; •Stimulating partner enterprises to assimilate knowledge through direct assistance and identification of technical and scientific expertise that COMOTI can provide to meet the needs and requirements of innovation of products with which the economic units entered the market (in the field covered by the project, INCD Turbomotors COMOTI has a vast expertise being also producing compression and expansion equipment of different types and sizes); •Access to the facilities offered by the Institute’s research base, research laboratories and test stands specific to the field of interest by the technical staff of the partner enterprises; • Carrying out research/development and innovation support activities by COMOTI at the request of partner enterprises; • The participation of the technical staff of the partner enterprises in the industrial research and experimental development activities initiated by the research unit to solve the technical, scientific and technological problems involved in carrying out the project. The realisation of the pilot energy storage station is a very complex installation made up of distinct components with high technical and technological level designed to increase the performance of the energy system. Its realisation and testing under real conditions of connection with the NES will help to support the specific objectives of the project.
