Having regard to the fact that in the 2014-2020 programming period Romania benefits from European funds amounting to approximately 43 billion euros, in particular the opportunities offered by the European Regional Development Fund through the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, AXA PRIORITARA 3, priority OF INVESTITION 4e, SPECIFICAL OBJECTIVE 3.2 – Reducing CARBON EMISSIONS IN THE URBAN ZONES BASED ON THE DURABILITY HUBILITY PLANS, as well as the fact that, within the framework of Sulina’s “Sulina Urban Mobility Plan” (SUMP), it is proposed to regulate the traffic on urban streets by providing clean means of transport as an alternative for carbon-emission road vehicles, namely the establishment of a clean, attractive and modern public transport system, as well as encouraging cycling or walking by providing specially designed routes for cyclists and improving the quality of sidewalks/pedestrian walkways. The investment objective is designed to increase the quality of life in the city of Sulina and align with the European policies of sustainable development. Thus, within the investment “integrated URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE IN THE CONTEXT OF DURABILE DEVELOPMENT OF SULINA ORAS” are proposed to achieve the following investment objects that lead to the reduction of carbon emissions in Sulina city based on the sustainable urban mobility plan:
