The general objective of the project is to support innovation and increase the productivity of Binbox Global Services S.R.L. by creating an innovative BigData platform for collecting information about the location of mobile devices used by mobile operators’ customers, their aggregation and processing for the implementation of the location based services concept. Internationally, it has reached a level of wireless penetration where almost a third of the world’s population owns a smartphone. With the growing popularity and use of smartphones around the world, location-based services and the multitude of applications that use them are now an indispensable part of people’s everyday lives. The added value of the project is highlighted by the following elements: 1. Scientific added value of the project: — the development of an integrated platform (LocationChest) for the provision of innovative services falling within the current trend of automation of location-based services, meaning the use of information obtained from mobile operators to automate and maximise the impact of targeted customer marketing campaigns. — increasing the excellence of Binbox Global Services S.R.L. in research activities in the field of information and communication technology. 2. Added value of the project from an economic point of view: improvement of the R & D infrastructure of the applicant as a result of the technological renewals required by the development and testing activities of the platform within the project; — expanding the applicant’s portfolio of products and services by creating an innovative IT product; — increasing the economic efficiency of the applicant by developing an innovative platform and expanding the applicant, after completion of the project implementation, in new sectors of activity (research). 3. The added value of the project for the cluster “Internet of Things” – The results and experience obtained through the implementation of this project by the Beneficiary’s company can be multiplied at the level of the “Internet of Things” cluster, especially as a result of the presentations of the IT platform developed through the project within the cluster; cluster members will benefit from free presentations of the platform; — The experience of the cluster members will be incorporated into the implementation and development of the technical solution, as well as in the distribution of the product to the market. This will lead to benefits both in terms of increasing research activities within the cluster, as well as in achieving the IT&C and R & D objectives set at its level.
