The general objective of the project is the realisation of an innovative product, as well as the innovative services associated with it, based on a hybrid cloud infrastructure, with unique features in Romania, to support both private economic operators and public authorities in Romania. Thus, the aim is to implement an innovative big data platform, namely a hybrid cloud platform that will provide both IaaS (infrastructure as a service), PaaS (platform as a service) and SaaS (software as a service) services for Binbox’s clients. Also, the platform will generate, for customers (SMEs or public authorities) the decrease of CAPEX-type expenses for the purchase of physical infrastructure and middleware components in order to run the applications necessary to carry out the activities. At the same time, the creation of the hybrid cloud platform aims to vertically integrate ICT solutions within society, following the trends of focus of activity on a sector. The estimated deadline for the implementation of the project is 24 months maximum. During this period, the Applicant aims to create an innovative platform that will allow control and operation of a complex cloud infrastructure, by developing a state-of-the-art platform, using a unitary, manageable solution (self-supply, automatic invoicing system, identification and authentication system based on biometric data for users, etc.) with capabilities to provide complex cloud services (elastic databases, artificial intelligence systems and intelligence, containers, software development environments). The platform will also provide users (customers) with a system through which they can develop and implement (or migrate) their hardware infrastructure in the cloud environment in an automated manner, based on presets that will allow automatic provisioning of the hardware resources needed to run client software applications. The main features of the hybrid cloud platform are as follows: Deliver the necessary cloud resources automatically for each type of application (manage in the most efficient way the necessary resources and in this way the costs of operating the cloud infrastructure decrease); Allows automatic installation of operating systems and middleware components, including for complex hardware architectures; Allows automatic provisioning of networking and security configurations to ensure communication between all hardware components of the system; Distribute the infrastructure on the servers optimally, depending on the most common location(s), available resources, costs, etc.; Allows scaling customer resources from Binbox (Binbox Cloud) cloud to a public cloud to allow lower latency access for applications used on the terror
