Improving urban mobility in the city of Năvodari on the streets serving public transport: Rândunelelor Street, Beelor Street, Constantei Street, Plopilor Street, Recoltei Street, Corbului Street, Nuferilor Street

The general objective of the project is to increase the quality of life at the level of the Navodari community by increasing the accessibility of goods and people and connecting them more closely through a sustainable, including, safe and environmentally friendly transport system. Public transport will become the second predilective way of moving citizens. Following the integrated investments, a quality, modern, sustainable and ecological public service will be provided, which will support the accessibility and mobility of the inhabitants between the areas of Navodari, including peripheral areas that are detached from the urban center, to the jobs and residential districts, to the central area, where the majority of institutions of public interest (administration, education, health) and green and recreational areas are grouped together. Motorised transport will decrease in weight due to the following ratios: on the one hand, providing alternative infrastructure (pedestrian and modern public transport), increasing the attractiveness and efficiency of the public transport service, so that, on internal, small distances, car owners will prefer to use these alternative modes of transport (low travel time, quality and comfort of travel, lower cost with such a mode of travel than by car), and on the other hand, due to administrative measures that encourage modal change: paying parking in the central area, reducing the number of parkings on the road in the central area, introducing a policy of monitoring and sanctioning irregular parking in the central area, reducing taxi licenses to the maximum number approved by the national legislation in force. Pedestrian mobility will be encouraged following the realisation of investments in the development and modernisation of pedestrian paths and sidewalks between the different districts of the urban area, so that pedestrians can be primarily achieved through this basic facility for an urban area (the existence of sidewalks). The Velo transport will increase in the time horizon analysed in the SUMP, and the modal share will be significant on the whole urban mobility. Specific objective 1: Ensuring mobility needs through transport services with reduced negative externalities (space consumption, energy consumption, air and soil pollution, noise pollution, greenhouse effect). This objective will be achieved by modernising the existing streets within the city of Năvodari by correcting the street prospectus, the width of the sidewalks must be resised according to the regulations, refurbishment of the green areas for alignment; reconfiguration of bus routes and their extension in peripheral areas of the city; creating local transport routes; development of cyclist tracks in the town of Năvodari to serve residents, visitors and commuters.
