The general objective of the proposed project is to ensure the access of students with social scholarships of Aurel Vlaicu Arad University, mainly to the learning process in the online environment. In this respect, the measure envisages equipping students with mobile equipment in the field of information technology such as school tablets and laptops, as well as other electronic equipment/devices, so that the training hours during the teaching activities can take place online but also hybrid, in order to avoid the direct contact of students with teachers and other colleagues, as well as to prevent the risk of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which would jeopardise the normal development of all the teaching activities necessary for the learning process. The need for this project derives from the context created by the coronavirus coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the lack of equipment with new or relatively new equipment within the university that will allow the provision of optimal conditions for the digital/online support of courses, seminars and laboratories, as well as the need to ensure the access of all students to current education, being in this regard the development of courses predominantly in the online environment. A high quality and inclusive digital education that respects the protection of personal data and ethical principles is a strategic objective for the leadership of the UAV, which we aim to achieve through this project as well. Before the pandemic, digital education was often the responsibility of a team or division within educational institutions, but the crisis showed that digital education is not a marginal aspect, but a central component of learning, teaching and evaluation in the 21st century. We strategically reflect on how digital technologies can be integrated into education and training and we aim to develop digital education centers within our university, so that the investment made in this project is sustainable and with medium and long-term effects. The transformation of education within Aurel Vlaicu Arad University for the digital age is an important objective, and this transformation will also include an in-depth dialogue and partnerships between teachers, the private sector, researchers, municipalities and public authorities.
