The general objective of the project is to increase the capacity of the National Institute for Research and Development for Food Bioresources-IBA Bucharest to participate in the European Union Research Framework Programmes (Horizon 2020 and the next Framework Programme 2020-2027), as well as in other international RDI programmes, by creating a SUPORT Managerial Centre (at the level of a horizontal department), hereinafter referred to as IBA SUPORT. This IBA SUPORT Managerial Centre will be responsible for developing the Institute’s capacity to obtain European funding, in particular through Horizon 2020, as well as for implementing processes and tools aimed at human resource, administrative-institutional capacity and managerial aspects. Implicitly, it is intended to promote and strengthen the Institute’s position in the elite of European centres with expertise in ensuring food quality and safety and in making the aspects of the whole food chain more efficient: processing-(bio)technologies-nutrition-consumer. The creation of IBA SUPORT aims to increase Romanian participation in research at EU level and, for this, to set up clearly defined posts for activities that both IBA Bucharest and IBA Bucharest collaborators need: — The development of tools to identify international project competitions relevant to the research directions of IBA Bucharest, in particular those in Horizon 2020; The organisation of information seminars (monthly or, whenever needed, info-days), researchers from the Institute, as well as other interested persons from the partner organisations IBA Bucharest; Establishment of a dissemination network, continuously updated, through which information will be transmitted regularly to those concerned; — The use of the electronic magazine NewsIBA from the IBA Bucharest website (http://news.bioresurse.ro/) to disseminate information on project competitions; — Providing technical support for writing projects – downloading information packages and presenting them, forms, organising writing teams and designing project proposals with topics established by the staff involved in the research activity, documentation on legislative requirements, new concepts, trends in the field, multidisciplinary, holistic approaches, etc. On the other hand, the persons employed in the positions created in IBA SUPORT will have to: Identify opportunities for training and specialisation in these activities, organised at national level, but above all at European level, in order to be able to better understand the requirements of a programme/project competition; Identify good practices for writing/transmitting information through project proposals; Form quality consortia so as to increase the success rate of the institute.
