The creation of the Support Center – UPB4H, which will be focused on strengthening scientific excellence in the fields of bioeconomy, information technologies for communications, space and security, environmental energy and climate change, eco-nanotechnologies and advanced materials and health, and to support research activity at the level of CPO. Thus, the project aims to achieve both a support framework and a unitary environment through which international development research projects will be developed, which will have the role to increase the participation capacity of CPO and project partners in European competitions. The center thus established will be a means that will serve both the public interest and the economic operators through their joint activities programmes. Growth within this center will provide competitive technological solutions for specific problems, initiate researchers, develop and encourage staff exchanges, knowledge transfer and the creation of intellectual property portfolios. The general objective of the project will also contribute to the achievement of specific objective 1.2 “Increasing Romanian participation in EU research” through project proposals to be developed under Horizon 2020. Thus, it will ensure that the international visibility of research and experimental development in CPO and research groups at European level will be increased. Research and innovation will make important contributions to the public-private sector, which plays an essential role for the development of society. In the medium and long term the project will generate positive effects by stimulating the business environment and economic sector in various fields (e.g. energy, health, bioeconomy, etc.) The objective assumed by the project aims both to strengthen scientific excellence and attractiveness in research and innovation and to increase Romania’s economic and industrial competitiveness at European and global level. Therefore, by achieving the general objective of the project will be achieved and developed relations of international cooperation of Romania with other EU Member States, associated states or third countries that will aim both to stimulate research in common areas of interest and a mutual benefit.
