The general objective of the project is to capitalise on the expertise obtained through research by IBA Bucharest in the field of food quality – sensory, hygienic, technological, nutritional and ethical – by transferring knowledge to the private economic environment in order to obtain safe and nutritionally optimised food products. This objective responds to the strategy of the Competitiveness Programme (COP) and falls under Priority Axis 1 “Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RDI) in support of economic competitiveness and business development”. As the use of expertise in agri-food research is done through knowledge transfer, the project falls under Action 1.2.3. “Knowledge transfer partnership”. This objective will be achieved, over the five years, through 2 strategic objectives: SO1. Providing (granting) access to IBA Bucharest’s research facilities for enterprises in the field and providing expertise in the field For this strategic objective, IBA Bucharest’s expertise offer will be formulated in accordance with the needs of the industry identified in the interactions with it in working groups organised in previous research projects, in the working groups initiated by the MADR to which IBA is a member and to which the industry was invited, from the discussions conducted within the National Food for Life Platform in which 8 processor companies operate, but also from the day-to-day interactions within the service contracts that IBA provides to the industry. This offer will correlate with the IBA offer of research infrastructure registered in the ERRIS platform and with the project coordinated by the Executive Agency for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation, UEFISCDI “Building the administrative capacity of the public Românian RDI system to address the short, medium and long term strategic needs of Romania’s social development” (SMIS code 37609), through which IBA entered the pilot program for intellectual capital development and the development of institutional development strategy. The offer will be presented to the industry through 6 thematic events – 4 workshops and a conference and at least 20 individual meetings in 6 regions, all organised in the first year of implementation, through which technical advice and support services will be considered. SO2. Development of innovative solutions for obtaining new, safe and sustainable food products and technologies, identified by IBA collaborators as being demanded by the market. Considering IBA’s research expertise in product/technologies and services development, companies that, following the presentation of the IBA offer and, following their advice, are interested in solving quality problems but also bringing innovative products to the market, will be invited to participate in projects through subsidiary contracts or contracts
