The main objective of the Privatesky project is the transfer of knowledge resulting from the research activity carried out within the Faculty of Informatics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași (UAIC) to the IT industry. The new idea introduced by this project is realised by using an innovative Cloud architecture based on executable choreographies in creating new technologies, tools and methods for software development in the cloud. The Cloud Computing Research Group of UAIC has obtained and validated through scientific publications of recent years new results in the area of use of executable choreographs for issues related to software integration and privacy of data stored and processed in the cloud. The objective of the project is achieved by developing a PaaS (Platform as a Service) platform called Privatesky, in collaboration with a minimum of 6 small and medium-sized companies, software developers, interested in using the proposed technologies. Throughout the project will work in joint teams UAIC researchers – specialists from companies, to create an “ecosystem” to meet the needs of the market. The Privatesky platform will be used by partner companies in the project for industrial research and experimental product and service development. This will allow them to launch innovative products in new markets or to convert/integrate on-premises applications to/with cloud applications. Also, Privatesky’s source code will be licensed in open-source, thus opening up the use of innovative technologies developed in the project and by other interested companies.
