The strategic aim of this project is to build on the already existing foundations of the Data Centre for Research and Development in Žilina – in line with the intervention logic of the Operational Programme Research and Innovation – to build a comprehensive R & D central ICT infrastructure for R & D institutions at national level. The aim of the project is to develop and modernise the infrastructure that was built under the DC R & D project in the 2007-2013 programming period and to deploy and build new components for the comprehensive operation of DC R & D institutions to meet the requirements of the research community and to fully serve as a R & D infrastructure for a range of research areas.The project is aimed at addressing ICT support and infrastructure support and central infrastructure, in particular in the context of research support and central infrastructure; storage capacity for the completion and further development of an integrated system of services, within which the individual applications of the data center and the access to them by the scientific community are managed; support for the entry into international networks of similar institutions that bring together national research ICT infrastructures The project will be implemented through three activities. The objective of Activity 1 is building new information systems and making available software applications according to the current requirements of researchers, as well as the development of existing information systems and software applications for the R & D activities of public science and research sites.   Activity 2 aims to create a cloud virtual infrastructure for the provision of software products in the form of cloud services – SaaS in the form of building a distributed computing private cloud, orchestrating the computing infrastructure, securing scientific data through data archiving and hierarchical transparent storage, supplementing the digitisation workplace with new devices and upgrading the software supporting the digitisation process, creating a platform enabling the processing of big data and allowing access to a private cloud centre for storing documents with the possibility of team cooperation of users. The objective of Activity 3 is to develop and modernise the digitisation workplace of the CVTI SR for processing, accessing and archiving of the digital data center of the Slovak Republic, in order to provide research and digital data in the field of research and digital implementation.
