The project will support the development of the IT sector by changes in the education system of primary schools, schools and higher education, mainly by increasing the quality of computer education, mathematical, science and technical education with a focus on ICT, motivation of pupils and students to study informatics and ICT, and development of the scientific competences of pupils and students. The aim of the project is to create a model of education and training of young people for the current and forward-looking needs of the knowledge society and the labour market with a focus on informatics and ICT. The education system will be set up to generate at least 1000 new specialists per year in Slovakia according to the requirements of the IT sector. It will be based on the creation of a so-called pyramid of pupils and students (min. 24 000 Elementary Schools, 9 000 CS, 3 000 higher education institutions) oriented and motivated for studying natural and technical sciences with a focus on informatics and ICT from the second level of primary school. The project will involve elementary schools (min. 300), CS (min. 200) and higher education (min.5) from all regions of Slovakia outside the Bratislava region. The activities of the project will include: innovation of science and technical education at primary and secondary schools with a focus on informatics and ICT, innovation in the preparation of university students for employment in the IT sector, education of teachers of informatics, mathematics, sciences and technical subjects of elementary school, secondary school, motivation of pupils and students for the study of informatics, ICT, mathematics, sciences and technical sciences, development of standards of digital literacy, personal development and communication competences according to international standards ECDL and ECo-C®, creation of partnerships and network of schools and IT companies. The outputs of the project will be innovated study programmes at university, primary school and secondary school, content and methodology of teaching in classes focused on informatics, popularisation and extra-curricular educational activities, partnerships of schools and IT companies, pupils of primary school and secondary school, students of higher education – oriented to study informatics and ICT, retrained teachers mainly primary school and secondary school (min. 2100), built technological classrooms IT ScienceLab.
