The strategic objective of the national project is to modernise the national infrastructure for information support for science and innovation in Slovakia as a system solution with a direct impact on increasing performance and excellence of R & D in Slovakia and economic growth. The project continues to build on the results achieved by the implementation of the national projects of NISPEZ, NISPEZ II and NISPEZ III in the 2007-2013 programming period under the Operational Programme Research and Development. It brings added value through the development and innovation of outputs realised not only within the framework of the above mentioned national projects, but also of other national projects implemented in CVTI SR, thus generating synergy effect.The main activities of the project are focused on three key themes:1. Coordinated provision of access to electronic information sources for research and innovation in Slovakia, including support activities for their effective use. The aim of the activity is to make information resources directly available to individual institutions of science and research (university schools, institutes of SAS) as well as through the services of CVTI SR and innovative enterprises and non-ministerial institutions of science and research.2. Ensuring the discovery of the system for the efficient search of scientific content and of the electronic content management system. The aim of the activity is to facilitate and simplify the work of scientists with electronic information sources by modernising the existing central search tool and implementing the Electronic Resources Management System (ERMS), whose main task will be to provide scientists with a detailed overview of pre-paid e-magazines and e-books.3. Modernisation of the system for the acquisition and long-term preservation of digital scientific content with an emphasis on the promotion of Open Access publishing.The subject of the activity is the modernisation of the system of acquisition and long-term preservation of digital scientific content and of the Open Access (OA) publishing system.
