Etc – Temporary emergency camp

Brief description of the project: The project deals with the construction of technical and institutional support for a dedicated rescue module Temporary Emergency Camp. By its nature, it contributes to increasing the efficiency of the management of emergencies affected by climate change, thereby fulfilling the main specific objective for the challenge. The construction of the module is designed in accordance with the Commission Implementing Decision of 16 October 2014 laying down rules for the implementation of Decision No 1313/2013/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on a Union Civil Protection Mechanism No 2014/762/EU. Its main task is the ability of the Slovak Republic to provide temporary emergency accommodation, including personnel, in a crisis situation of one of the EU Member States. The tent camp for at least 250 people will mainly serve in the early stages of the disaster, where a large number of people are in need due to damage or destruction of dwellings. The module will be able to travel within 12 hours of receipt of the offer and work 24 hours for four to six weeks. It will be registered in the Common Emergency Communication and Information System (CECIS) database. The technical requirements for the module shall be in line with international recommendations. The project will be implemented by the Fire and Rescue Corps in partnership with the Association of Samaritans of the Slovak Republic, which will mainly provide registration of persons and provision of basic medical and social care. The activities of the project are building technical and institutional support module, building a hall for storing the module technical support, positioning and training of the intervention team, education, preparation of the operating manual, simulation exercise, registration and certification of the module into the CECIS system and evaluation of the project. Measurable indicators are the construction of one dedicated rescue module for the provision of temporary emergency accommodation and the procurement of 132 facilities to eliminate climate change risks.
