The aim of the national project “Assessment of the effectiveness of public spending” (expenditure review) is to evaluate public spending from the point of view of the effectiveness and efficiency of spending and to identify measures that will increase value for money from public finances. The second objective is to strengthen the analytical capacity of the public sector in the area of expenditure revision. The project will be implemented under one main activity Evaluation of the effectiveness of public expenditure, subdivided internally into 4 sub-activities: 1. Development of a methodology for the revision of expenditure, 2. Carrying out a revision of expenditure, 3. Preparing the link between the expenditure review and the budgetary process 4. Follow-up of the implementation of the proposed measures. The place of implementation of the project is the whole of the Slovak Republic. The main outputs will be 1 expenditure revision methodology developed, 39 evaluation (analytical) reports of expenditure revision, 1 material proposing to link the expenditure revision process to the budgetary process and 4 reports on the implementation of measures. Through the project, 2 new analytical units will be created in 2 public administration institutions and capacity will be increased by 31 analytical sites.
