The specific objective of the project is to improve the conservation status of species and habitats and to enhance biodiversity, in particular within the Natura 2000 network; the specific objective of the project is to: promote the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources, ensure environmental protection, actively adapt to climate change and promote energy efficiency and a low-carbon economy. The main activity of the project is the elaboration of documents of the territorial system of ecological stability (in accordance with Act No 543/2002 Coll. on nature and landscape protection, as amended, hereinafter referred to as “the Nature and Landscape Protection Act”), i.e. 50 documents of regional territorial ecological stability systems (hereinafter referred to as “RÚSES”): Malacky, Pezinok, Senec, Dunajská Streda, Galanta, Trnava, Hlohovec, Piestany, Senica, Skalica, Nitra, Topoľčany, Zlaté Moravce, Šaľa, Komárno, Nové Zámky, Levice, Myjava, Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Bánovce nad Bebravou, Partizánske, Prievidza, Námestovo, Veľký Krtíš, Lučenec, Poltár, Rimavská Sobota, Revúca, Kežmarok, Stará Ľubovňa, Sabinov, Bardejov, Medzilaborce, Humenné, Snina, Vranov nad Topľou, Rožňava, Gelnica, Bratislava – city, Košice – town, Košice – surroundings, Bytča, Žilina, Kysucké Nové Mesto, Považská Bystrica, Púchov, Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Krupina, Žarnovica. RÚSES documents will be processed for a total of 57 selected districts of the Slovak Republic (NUTS LAU 1), the document RÚSES Bratislava – the city will include 5 districts and the document RÚSES Košice – City 4 districts according to the territorial division of the Slovak Republic. RÚSES documents will become a binding ecological regulation for planning processes in the country and decision-making activities of public authorities. 50 RÚSES documents processed for the above mentioned districts will be measurable indicators of the project.
