Support for pre-primary education of children from marginalised Roma communities I.

The national project complements other projects “Take away” package (focused on field social work, community center activities and assistance in managing land under Roma dwellings) in 150 municipalities with the highest rate of subdevelopment index in Slovakia. The main objective is to increase the number of children from marginalised communities, in particular Roma attending MES, by creating an inclusive kindergarten environment and, through family work (PSR), to increase the number of children from marginalised communities. The objectives of the NPs will be achieved through activities aimed at creating conditions for the participation of children from the CLLD in secondary schools, in particular through the SGP, through material support and improving the educational process. Teachers’ assistants and professional staff will act as members of inclusive teams at the school. On the basis of auto-evaluation, inclusive teams will prepare and gradually implement MES change action plans in favour of enhancing inclusion. This includes training and instructional professional events, micro-regional meetings of inclusive teams, development and adaptation of methodologies that lead to improved awareness and cooperation with target groups. Project management will be provided by a management team (main project manager, 9 project managers, lawyer and office manager) responsible for communication in relation to authorised users and reporting (preparation of monitoring reports and payment requests and other obligations). Methodological (content) and coordination activities directly in the regions are provided by a project team (methodology and 9 regional coordinators), which implements sub-activities, monitors and collects data, improves cooperation and awareness with target groups, etc. The main target groups are children from CLLD, parents, members and residents of the CLLD. Expected results: 150 schools involved in activities aimed at promoting inclusive education, 235 teachers’ assistants and 145 professional staff, 4000 children from MRC who have completed at least one year of pre-school attendance in supported kindergartens.
