The project addresses the implementation of 21 rescue programmes and 2 care programmes containing a total of 26 undisclosed caves representing habitat 8310 under NATURA 2000. The predominant activity aimed at improving or maintaining the current state of underground habitats is the reconstruction of old ones, the construction of new cave closures or the stabilisation of the interior parts of the caves and their cleaning. The newer discovered and not yet mapped parts of the caves will be focused on the production of standard map documentation. As part of the research and monitoring work, trace testing will be carried out to detect the course of underground water flow, the expeditional form of climatological monitoring will provide information on the basic characteristics of the environment and in selected caves the climatic measuring stations with a record of data will be located, hydrological monitoring focused on water flow and conductivity will also be carried out. The project will carry out lithological-mineralogical analyses of samples from Plavecka Karst, where biospeleological monitoring focused on invertebrates and Chiropterological monitoring of bats will also take place. The project also includes the supply of the necessary equipment and material for carrying out professional activities by the Slovak Caves Administration.
