The national project implemented by SAŽP will ensure the improvement of environmental protection by providing awareness and better information to the public and the affected actors in the areas of the various environmental compartments. The objective of the project will be achieved through the implementation of various types of information activities, awareness-raising programmes and counselling, thereby promoting greater public participation in decision-making processes and increasing the environmental awareness of the public and affected entities in environmental management.The national project will contribute significantly to the achievement of the objectives of the Operational Programme Quality of the Environment (OPE) in the field of information and advice. The national project is based on a set of main activities through which information activities linked to investment priorities 1 to 4 of Priority Axis 1 and Investment Priority Axis 2 of the OP will be implemented. In addition to these activities, activities of a cross-cutting nature will be carried out aimed at improving awareness of the quality of the environment throughout priority axis 1 and 2, i.e. the sustainable use of natural resources through the development of environmental infrastructure and adaptation to the adverse impacts of climate change with a focus on flood protection. The National Environmental Service will be created as part of the national project. The global objective of the national project is to improve the quality of the environment of the Slovak Republic by ensuring access of target groups to information and awareness raising in the field of the environment.
