The project is aimed at drawing up documentation of nature protection, programmes of care for two large-area protected areas – Protected Landscape Area (hereinafter referred to as “PCKO”) Horná Orava and PLA Štiavnické vrchy. Within their territory there are several areas of European importance for which the Slovak Republic must have drawn up documents of care and cannot be drawn up separately. Therefore, the management programmes for the abovementioned PLA will also be a programme for the management of the territories of Community importance located within them. In the case of the PKO Horná Orava there are 19 areas of Community importance (SKUEV0057, SKUEV0185, SKUEV0187, SKUEV0188, SKUEV0189, SKUEV0190, SKUEV0191, SKUEV0193, SKUEV0222/SKUEV2222, SKUEV0304/SKUEV2304, SKUEV0658, SKUEV0659, SKUEV0660, SKUEV0661, SKUEV0662, SKUEV0826, SKUEV0828, SKUEV0963, SKUEV0964) and for PKO Štiavnické vrchy about 9 areas of Community importance (SKUEV0015, SKUEV0216, SKUEV0258, SKUEV0259, SKUEV0262, SKUEV0263, SKUEV0264, SKUEV0265, SKUEV0266). The basis for the creation of a care document will be a mapping of the presence of protected objects (habitats and species), an analysis of socio-economic conditions and the factors acting and influencing the objects of protection following ownership relationships. The aim of the project will be to prepare and pre-negotiate the documentation of nature protection in accordance with the curriculum in Annex 18 to Slovak Ministry of the Environment Decree No 24/2003 Coll., as amended, implementing Act No 543/2002 Coll. on nature and landscape protection, as amended, taking into account the requirements of the subject-matter of the areas of Community importance that occur within these two territories. The documentation will be the basis for the approval of the principles of care in the 28 SCIs occurring within the two protected landscape areas.
