The aim of the project is to contribute to the optimisation of HR through the development of an ambitious energy policy in the 3 least developed districts (NROs) – Kežmarok, Rimavská Sobota and Rožňava. At present, there is de facto no regional energy policy in Slovakia. The purpose of the project is to improve the conditions in the NRA for the turnover of VS in the field of energy from elementary to purposeful development. The project has 2 milestones: A comprehensive set of measures to implement a modern energy policy in the regions, made up of experts in synergy with and tested in practice with the main actors in the region.Strengthened regional partnerships supporting energy planning in 3 NRAs and a professional platform promoting sustainable regional energy policy more broadly. The project will be implemented through the main activity Sustainable Regional Energy Processes, Systems and Policies with 3 sub-activities: 1.1 Analysis of the causes of the absence of a local/regional energy policy.1.2. Assessment of the context from the perspective of the emerging regional energy policy,1.3 A comprehensive set of measures to implement a modern energy policy at regional level. The project includes information activities linked to the process of building active regional partnerships. The new expert platform will promote proposals to support the development of a sustainable regional energy policy beyond districts. The main activity will be realised o.z. Friends of Earth-CEPA together with key informal partners: associations of municipalities and new sustainable energy centres in 3 NRAs. Professional activities are planned for 24 months, project management will last 27 months. The project responds to existing problems with serious economic and social consequences, especially in regions lagging behind: a vital approach to energy, a lack of energy planning, a lack of information and understanding of the importance of energy for local development, a low degree of energy literacy and almost no societal demand for a modern regional energy policy.
