Construction of infrastructure for inspection and preparation of railway passenger transport fleet – Nové Zámky

The subject of the project is the construction of a workplace for inspection and preparation of the railway passenger transport fleet for the ŽOD in Nové Zámky (so-called technical and hygiene maintenance). The Thú Centre in Nové Zámky is one of the six centres that have been confirmed by the feasibility study of the project with regard to the existing network and operating services in public passenger transport in Slovakia. In view of the scope of the work carried out, the Nové Zámky resort was selected as a ‘group A’ centre in the phase, i.e. the priority centre. The Thú centre will serve the operational maintenance and hygiene cleaning of the vehicles. As the current workplaces do not meet the standards of the 21st century and the needs of new vehicles purchased by ZSSK in recent years need to be rebuilt. Private companies active in Slovakia engaged in the production and servicing of rolling stock provide only heavy maintenance and therefore the services that will be provided by the Thú Nové Zámky centre are not provided by other entities in Slovakia. This centre will also serve all passenger carriers in Slovakia within the meaning of the Fourth Railway Package and Act No 513/2009 Coll. on Railways, who will be interested in its services.
