Extension of the network of monitoring stations to monitor the concentration of allergising particles

The main objective of the project is ‘to provide accurate and timely information on the content of organic particles – pollen and mould spores in the air’. The condition for fulfilling the main objective is to extend the existing network of pollen monitoring stations to the level necessary for accurate and comprehensive assessment of pollen situation in individual regions of Slovakia. The restoration and completion of technical, instrumental and personnel equipment of the pollen information service infrastructure will ensure adequate monitoring of environmental health risks caused by the occurrence of biological allergens in the air for the whole territory of Slovakia, thus strengthening the fundamental role in the protection and promotion of public health – prevention. The place of implementation is the territory of the whole Slovakia. The infrastructure created will also serve as a coherent warning system against the negative impact of particulate matter in the air. The territory of Slovakia, including the inhabited parts, will be monitored. The system will also serve as an open database of data (historical/current) which will serve the professional public for further development in this area.
