Within the meaning of Act No 292/2017 on the contribution from the European Structural and Investment Funds and amending certain acts, as amended, the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic is designated as the audit authority (AA) for the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). Within the organisational structure of the Ministry of Finance, the AA performs the tasks of the Audit and Control Section. As of 1 January 2019, 68 posts were created under the Audit and Control Section and are directly dedicated to the AA’s tasks. The aim of the project is to increase and expand professional qualifications by carrying out specific training in the control and auditing of ESIF funds with a view to ensuring effective delivery of ESIF implementation activities. The target group of the project will be mainly employees of the Audit and Control Section of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic (SAK MF SR), such as the AA, or other eligible target groups involved in the implementation of the ESI Funds. The upgrading and dissemination of the professional qualifications of the AA’s employees through the specific training in question will be demonstrated by a measurable indicator of the project ‘Number of trained participants in specific trainings and courses’. The main activities will focus on:1. Provision of training activities related to the control and audit of the ESI Funds,2. Participation in English language professional courses.
