The project follows the national project PopVaT – Popularisation of Science and Technology in Slovakia, implemented in the 2007-2013 programming period. Its strategic goal is to complete the national popularisation network in all regions of Slovakia, especially by completing the centres of science and popularising activities in these regions. Partner scientific institutions and universities, non-profit organisations, established centres of science and other organisations popularising science and technology will be involved in the popularisation network. The key outputs of the project will be: building a network of science centers, creating a national popularisation network (contact points); organising popularisation activities and promoting science and technology in the media. The construction of one large and two smaller centers of science outside the Bratislava region in order to promote and popularise R & D results in less developed regions, the completion and use of ZCV Aurelium, established during the previous programming period, represents a significant part of the project, which will ensure the popularisation of science and technology among the general public and youth. Intensive cooperation and exchange of exhibits will take place between the different centres of science. Modern communication systems, mobile applications, social networks, etc. will be used to communicate with visitors and the public. The main objective of the national popularisation network will be to strengthen the perception of the importance of science in society through the popularisation of science and technology towards the public, including adolescents, with an emphasis on awareness of the specific role of the scientific community itself in the popularisation of science and technology. Existing and new activities aimed at popularising science and technology will be implemented for the needs of meeting the set goals. From popularisation tools used in the project, the most important will be the organisation of popularisation and professional events (scientific conferences, seminars, competitions, workshops, travelling exhibitions, etc.), the administration and expansion of the web portal, the use of modern social networking technologies for communication with mobile devices of the target groups of the project, the subsequent collection and evaluation of quantitative and qualitative data about these target groups. The promotion of science and technology will take place according to approved media plans in all relevant media. The media plan will build on the experience of the last programming period and build on already existing analyses of the effectiveness of popularisation tools used. To support the promotion of science and technology, audiovisual works and media products, PR campaigns focused on selected fields of science and technology and specific project activities will be carried out.
