Reducing the energy intensity of the administrative building UPJŠ Košice

The aim of the project is to reduce the energy intensity of the building UPJŠ Košice, which is located in the area of the Botanical Garden at Mánesova Street in Košice. It is a building made up of three parts, within which there are classrooms, laboratories and administrative and technical facilities for pedagogical and scientific-research staff of the University.  Since the building is in poor technical condition, it generates high costs for its operation and thus unbearably burden the university’s budget. The main objective of the project will be fulfilled through the implementation of activities that are materially consistent with the type of main activity – A. Reducing the energy intensity of public buildings, within the specific objective 4.3.1 Reduction of energy consumption in the operation of public buildings. The subject of the project is the implementation of energy-saving measures aimed at saving energy of the administrative building UPJŠ Košice, which resulted from the energy audit of the building and will contribute to the improvement of the thermal and technical properties of building structures. The project deals with insulation of external walls, roof insulation, replacement of openings, replacement of external lighting and regulation of the central heating system.  An important element of the project is the construction of a barrier-free entrance to the building and a significant improvement of its environmental indicators.
