The project will be implemented in caves Demänovská Valley and Zápoľná in order to improve or maintain the current state of underground habitats. Within the accessible parts of the caves of NPP Demänovské Caves we plan to reduce as much as possible anthropogenic effects on underground spaces through complete reconstruction of electrical installations and related technologies reducing in particular heat emissions in underground habitats. In the Demänovská Cave of Peace, it is also the restoration of disturbed parts and minimisation of negative interventions from the past disclosure. Part of this will be the reconstruction of the sightseeing path so that it can serve for monitoring and non-commercial environmental activities. Research and monitoring activities are aimed at ensuring better protection of cave habitats – trace testing, monitoring of cave fauna, climatological monitoring and geological research with analyses are planned. In the undisclosed parts of the cave system and in the cave Zápoľná will be carried out work on entrance closures, cleaning of underground spaces and provision of technical equipment for safer access during professional activities. The project will also include mapping and documentation of caves, addition of instrumentation and publication of publications on the site of the project.
