The aim of the project is to provide a comprehensive activity related to the management and control of road safety. The subject of the project is also an analysis of traffic accidents, elaboration of the classification of critical accident sites with a proposal for necessary measures and subsequent economic evaluation. By carrying out the project, the Slovak Road Administration will have at its disposal an updated analysis of accidents on the class I road network every year in its report. An overall and comprehensive view of the state of road safety consists of an update of the analysis of road accidents, including the classification of critical accident sites, the identification of risks on the road network. The project is considering an annual update. The project foresees a continuous and investment inspection in the range of about 1200 km. The shortcomings identified will be reflected in the processing of the projects with the design of the measures. For a comprehensive picture, partial line and nodal traffic surveys will also be processed. The final outcome of the project will be the processing of the report on corrective measures from the previous year.The results of the project will be used as a priority in the processing and preparation of projects co-financed by EU funds.The project item at the SAA stage will speed up this process significantly. The manager will use the road safety criterion when setting up its investment activity, i.e. in the creation of the SSC investment plan. The conclusions of the project will be provided to the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic for the purpose of fulfilling the obligations of the Class I Road Manager pursuant to Act No 249/2011 Coll. on the management of road safety.
