Reducing the energy intensity of the administrative building SHMÚ Jaslovské Bohunice

The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (hereinafter referred to as “SHMÚ”) was established by Decision No8/OS/8/1969 of the Minister for Forestry and Water Management with effect from 1 January 1969. Act No. 201/2009 Coll. on State Hydrological Service and State Meteorological Service, as amended, SHMÚ is the operator of the state meteorological network, which also includes the workplace of SHMÚ in Jaslovské Bohunice. The administrative building Jaslovské Bohunice (O.O. Bohunice), owned by the Slovak Republic, the administrator of the building is SHMÚ, provides data for the needs of climatology, hydrology, environmental protection and monitoring of the propagation of exhales in the atmosphere, together with the development of models for spreading the effects of radioactive exhalates around nuclear installations. In 2017, the building was subject to a partial energy audit (EA), which categorised into energy class A1 and at the same time concrete measures were proposed in order to achieve the energy class A1. The final report from the EA served as one of the documents for the designer, whose task was to map in detail the state of play and prepare the implementation documentation for the reconstruction of the building in order to achieve the A1 energy class. As part of the implementation of the project, the completion of the barrier-free entrance to the building is also proposed.
