Improving the material and technical equipment of the Fire and Rescue Corps to reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 outbreak

The project addresses the improvement of the material and technical equipment of the Fire and Rescue Corps (HaZZ) to reduce the negative effects of the spread of COVID-19 or other epidemiological risks associated with the threat to the health of HaZZ members and the Slovak population themselves. Material and technical equipment shall ensure compliance with epidemiological-hygienic principles to prevent the development of contagious diseases as well as protection against the spread of infections. The project will provide HaZZ with the special equipment necessary for early and efficient intervention to increase the efficiency of climate-influenced emergency management. The whole territory of the Slovak Republic is the place of implementation. The main activity of the project is the optimisation of systems, services and the strengthening of intervention capacities for emergency management at local and regional level aimed at reducing negative impacts in connection with the spread of COVID-19 and underactivity by providing special equipment necessary for timely and efficient intervention.Personal protective equipment (hereinafter PPE) and other intervention capacities are equally distributed to the level of eight regional directorates of the Fire and Rescue Corps (KR HaZZ) from the point of view of the grant application. PPE and reinforced intervention capacities acquired through the implementation of the project will be used for the activities of HaZZ officers in locations affected by the emergency. The distribution of PPE and the necessary intervention capacities from KR HaZZ will reflect the current need in view of the evolution of the COVID-19 outbreak situation. PPE and intervention capacities serve not only to directly intervene at an incriminated time, but also to eliminate or mitigate the effects of emergencies affected by climate change, which increases the efficiency of the European Regional Development Fund funding. Measurable indicators of the project sú:Počet entities with improved equipment of intervention capacities: 8 KR HaZZThe value of purchased personal protective equipment: 5 993 294,15 EUROPheditary Protective Equipment: 1 852 176 pcs
