The proposed section of the reconstruction of the road II/556 connects the settlement units of Giraltovce and Hanušovce nad Topľou in the districts of Svidník and Vranov nad Topľou. This is a journey which is managed by the applicant with a relatively high traffic intensity for Class II and Class III roads. The reconstruction of road II/556 will also improve accessibility to settlement centres and their social infrastructure. The implementation of the project will create the conditions for significantly improving the fluidity of public passenger transport by road. The proposed section is located on road II/556 in the cadastral area of the village Mičakovce in station 5,796-7,442 50. The total length of the section is 1,64650 km. Part of the works include reconstruction of bridge objects 556-006, 556-007, 556-008 and reconstruction of one arch pass in km 6,624. The subject of the project is the reconstruction of the road II/556 with the following measures:- Replacement of the tablecloth and loading layer of the road cover in a specified range,- Reconstruction of bridge objects,- Adjustment of passes and drainage devices,- Replacement and installation of guardrails and directional pillars. The project aims at qualitatively improving the infrastructure ensuring the availability of public services, ensures accessibility to industrial parks, contributes to connecting settlement centres and ensures access to basic social services. Due to the fact that the subject of the project is regional communication ensuring daily commuting, the project also contributes to the creation of jobs, the promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of communities in the region.
