The designed road II/534 is connected to roads D1 and I/18 towards the comprehensive TEN-T network. Road II/534 serves to connect adjacent cities, i.e. Poprad, High Tatras and villages in the western part of Prešov self-governing region as well as visitors of the High Tatras to roads D1 and I/18. Within the framework of the construction is the modernisation of the road II/534 on the section Poprad – Starý Smokovec with the beginning of the modification of the reconstructed section No. 1 in km 0.750 road II/534 behind the bridge above the Velický potokom and the end of the section in km 1,260 road II/534 before the junction with highway D1 High Tatras. The beginning of the reconstructed section No. 2 is in km 1,748 road II/545 behind the junction with the motorway D1 High Tatras and the end of section No.2 is in km 4,315 road II/545. Part of the building is reconstruction of bridges above Velický and Red stream, and reconstruction of paved ditches and sewerage. The implementation of the project will eliminate dangerous elements, which will have a positive impact on the shortening of road traffic times, will contribute to saving time, including VOD, improving traffic fluidity and thus its transport safety. Overall, road transport conditions for residents and visitors of the functional region Prešov, Poprad and High Tatras will be improved. This will have a proportionate impact on increasing the attractiveness of the region, increasing mobility and green transport, which will improve the quality of the environment of the country concerned.The project mainly results in the reconstruction and modernisation of the 3.077 km of Class II road.
