Professional development of teachers (TEACHERS)

The main objective of the project is to support the professional development of pedagogical staff and professional staff (hereinafter referred to as the PA and CC) in the introduction and implementation of changes in schools and school facilities, including the management of crisis, post-crisis and consequences related to the interruption of teaching in schools and school facilities (hereinafter referred to as schools) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The target group of the project is the PAs and OZ schools and school facilities within the meaning of Act No 138/2019. The fulfilment of the main objective will increase the level of professional competences of the PA and OZ, which will result in an improvement in the performance and competences of children and pupils, including those with disabilities. The project has one activity comprising three professional sub-activities. The first sub-activity is aimed at reviewing and innovation of current and creating new professional standards. New and innovative professional standards respond to the requirements of the legislation in force and will allow their application in the professional development and attestations of the FD and the OZ. The second sub-activity is aimed at supporting the introduction and implementation of changes in schools and school facilities. It includes a number of activities, such as the creation of best pedagogical and professional experience (NOPS), the holding of conferences, the promotion of networking of PAs and OZs through teachers’ forums, counselling in schools, support for the transfer of innovation from education to the educational process, surveys and the development and implementation of new education programmes aimed at introducing systemic changes in management and promoting changes in teaching strategies and approaches in schools. The third sub-activity aims at ensuring an adequate response of the education system to the crisis and post-crisis situations related to the interruption of school teaching due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the creation of an online platform addressing the needs of all educational actors (PZ, OZ, school leaders). The third subactivity will be implemented by the project partner of the State Pedagogical Institute. The place of implementation of the project is the territory of the whole Slovak Republic.
