KE, Reconstruction and modernisation of road II/552 – Slanecká cesta

Communication II/552 is the entrance radial to the city of Košice from the direction Veľké Kapušany – Slanec, is the main transport route connecting the villages of Zemplína with Košice and at the same time the only access road of the inhabitants of two adjacent urban areas with the city center. The aim of the presented project KE, Reconstruction and modernisation of road II/552 – Slanecká cesta is Improvement of the connection of road II/552 (Slanecká cesta) to TEN-T infrastructure and roads I. class with emphasis on improving safety and smoothness of road traffic. Project reconstruction and modernisation of this bacon road in the urban part of Košice – mainly consists of modifications of the building road: reconstruction – extension of the existing road II/552 to four-lane communication with a medium dividing strip with a new road structure, drainage of the road to the slit troughs and through street inlets to the proposed road sewer, conversion and completion of light-controlled junctions and uncontrolled junctions with the necessary radiating lanes and line coordination (at intersections, crossings for pedestrians and cyclists with barrier-free treatment and their lighting) construction of a new bridge building through Myslavský potok, illumination of communications in the middle dividing strip with booms on both sides, traffic signs. The target group is represented by users of the road transport network, especially residents of adjacent urban areas, surrounding towns and villages, operators and investors in industrial zones and public bus operators, visitors to the city and region, tourists, random passengers, etc.A measurable indicator is the total length of reconstructed or renovated roads (class II and III), which represents 2,275 km. As part of the sustainability of the project, the measurable indicator “Time savings in road transport on the roads II and III – EUR 10 268 883” will be monitored. The implementation of the project will improve the connection of MFO Košice to Class I roads and TEN-T infrastructure, thereby helping a more balanced territorial development and allowing access to basic public services (social, health, educational), economic growth, improvement of safety and traffic flow, reducing accidents, reducing the energy intensity of transport, reducing the negative impact of road traffic (especially transit and freight) on the population of towns and villages and on railways, improving conditions for public transport by road as part of the multimodal VOD system and creating integrated multimodal transport systems.
