Road I/9 is part of the road network of the Slovak Republic in the direction west-east, leading on the route (Brno) Drietoma, state border – Trenčín – Prievidza – Žiar nad Hronom. The road was created by dividing the I/50 road into three separate roads. The reconstruction of the affected section of road I/9 starts at the junction with the motorway D1 Chocholná, continues with intersections with roads III/1868, III/1878. It passes through the extravilian of the villages Veľké Bierovce, Trenčianske Stankovce and Trenčianska Turná, where it crosses with II/507. The reconstruction ends in front of the village of Munich Lehota. The purpose of the project “Reconstruction of the road I/9 Chocholná – Munich Lehota” is to remove the broken concrete road, which will be replaced by a semi-solid road with a resin surface. A base, rigid homogenising layer on which the asphalt road layers are laid is made of the existing concrete pavement and the addition of a binder. The pavement layer will be made of mastic asphalt carpet, medium grain, modified SMA 11-I. The project also includes reconstruction of six selected junctions with roads II and III. Road I/9 in the junctions is supplemented by additional lanes for left turn, connecting lanes so as to ensure the safety and fluidity of traffic. The project also plans to reconstruct seven bridge buildings. It is necessary to build illumination of the circular junction, in places with the proposed replenishment of turning strips it is necessary to translate public lighting. As part of the reconstruction of the junction with road II/507 it is necessary to transfer the water supply, some weak and heavy current lines.
