Incentives for the project’s activities are the effort to effectively protect employees in the health care sector most at risk of COVID-19 and the need to build domestic capacity for the development of PPE and other means of protection against infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus causing the current pandemic. The objectives of the project are the construction of the Textile Intelligence Centre, the development of an anti-microbial equipment for the treatment of air, active heviruses and other microbes in the intake air, and research and verification of new materials for so-called clean rooms. The above objectives foresee the use of textiles with new characteristics, which will be developed by the applicant Fibrochem in close cooperation with the research institution VÚB a.s. (CZ) connected to the techological clusters Clutex (CZ) and FK Textil (DE). The aim of this activity is to develop and create an antimicrobial equipment suitable for recovery units that will eliminate viruses and bacteria coming into indoor residential and non-residential premises. The facility will have the task of disposing of all types of viruses and bacteria in the air in public but also in accommodation and air systems providing air supply from the surrounding area. The aim is to create a unique clean room in which innovative materials and technologies will be used to create, by their characteristics, a maximum sterile and disinfected room according to the international standard ISO 14644, which will positively affect the convalescence and health of patients. The target audience is all public and private organisations dealing with the care of elderly people, people with disabilities and other people dependent on daily social assistance, which significantly eliminate the risk of contagion by using this equipment and clothing with antimicrobial activity.
