Modernisation of public passenger transport stops and information systems, Slanecká cesta, Košice

The project “Modernisation of public passenger transport stops and information systems, Slanecká cesta, Košice” is part of the construction “KE, reconstruction and modernisation of road II/552 – Slanecká cesta”. Slanecká cesta II/552 is the entrance radial to the city of Košice from the direction Veľké Kapušany – Slanec, is the main transport route connecting the village Zemplín and Košice and at the same time the only access road inhabitants of two adjacent urban areas with the city center. The objective of the present project is to increase the comfort of travel by public passenger transport through reconstruction and modernisation of infrastructure and information transport system at the stops.The project of modernisation of public passenger transport stops in the city district Košice – Nad Lake consists of the following construction modifications: modification of the local road – Važecká street with drainage and the construction of a bus stop for the direction of Slanec; reconstruction or even shifting of existing bus stops of public transport to separate bus bays (5 double-sided bus stops), bus stops of public transport will be solved with barrier-free curb, passenger shelter, information board, ticket machine, walking access will be solved barrier-free with elements for the blind; as part of the information system, an electronic information board on the departures of individual services in online mode and a ticketing machine will be addressed at bus stops. The target group is composed of users of the road transport network, especially residents of adjacent urban areas, surrounding towns and villages, operators and investors in industrial zones and public bus operators, visitors to the city and region, tourists, random passengers, etc. A measurable indicator is the number of built and upgraded integrated stops, the implementation of the project will improve the public passenger transport infrastructure, which will result in increased passenger comfort, improved transport conditions, which will facilitate the attractiveness of public transport as part of a multimodal VOD system, a more balanced territorial development and access to centres of economic importance.
