The proposed project is aimed at the delivery and installation of ETCS (European Train Control System) train protection system into 12 units of traction rolling stock (HKV) series 361. The ETCS security system will meet the requirements of the railway infrastructure of the Slovak Republic (ŽSR) and the Railway Administration (Sž, formerly SŽDC) (transitional HKV “Sk-CZ”). The installation of ETCS will comply with the TSI/UIC/STN EN and national requirements in terms of transient AECs. ETCS will be Level 2, Baseline 3, SRS 3.4.0 with the possibility to operate also at Level 1. ETCS will have a communication link with Class B – Mirel VZ1 train protection (Mirel VZ1 is installed on HKV) and an interface to the electrical, control and air circuits of HKV. Part of the project is the approval process for the authorisation of transitional HKV with functional ETCS on lines in terms of transitional SK-Cz, training of the contracting authority staff, delivery of documentation, diagnostic equipment and spare parts.HKV series 361 with installed ETCS Level 2 system, the implementation of which is the subject of the submitted project will be deployed on the lines of ŽSR, where the construction of the track security system ETCS:110 Bratislava – Kúty – Czech state border is considered in the future, 120 Bratislava – Žilina,125 Púchov – Lúky pod Makytou – Czech Republic state border,127 Žilina – Čadca – ČR State border,130 Bratislava – Nové Zámky – Štúrovo,180 Žilina – Košice.
