The Prešov Self-Governing Region, as a pilot region in Slovakia, participated in the European Commission’s initiative to support catching-up regions “Catching-up Regions Initiative”.Proposed project “Improving educational infrastructure in agri-food and technical SOŠ, Kušnierska Gate 349/2, Kežmarok – Stage II” is one of the projects proposed under the “Improving Secondary Vocational Education and Training” component to achieve the specific objective of increasing the number of secondary school pupils in practical teaching by improving the quality of vocational education and training through investment in improving space conditions and material and technical equipment for vocational education, as well as by supporting cooperation with employers by creating common areas for vocational education, which would enable the local training needs to be brought more into line with the vocational training needs. It is the second stage of investment within this school. The first stage of the investment focused on material and technical equipment with agricultural equipment and gastro-fire equipment. Within the third stage, the investment will be completed by the modernisation of the premises of the main building of the school with the creation of a conference centre and the new building of the “minifarm” (school hall and workshops) in the Pradiareň locality.In the specific objective 2.2.3, the following activities will be carried out in the present project: Supporting the development of a modern workplace for vocational training – EP Austria (type of act. (A)The results of the project are quantified using the following measurable indicators: P068 Capacity of the supported ESI school infrastructure; P0310 Number of ES supported; P0374 Number of refurbished public buildings; P0614 Floor area of refurbished public buildings and P0700 Reduction of annual primary energy consumption in public buildings.
