The aim of the project is to reduce the energy intensity of the building of the Faculty of Natural Sciences UPJŠ Košice, which is located at Ausenná Street No. 5 in Košice. It is a four-storey building, within which there are auditoriums, seminar rooms, laboratories and administrative and technical facilities for pedagogical and scientific-research staff of the University.  Since the building is in poor technical condition, it generates high costs for its operation and thus unbearably burden the university’s budget.The main objective of the project will be fulfilled through the implementation of activities that are materially consistent with the type of main activity – A. Reducing the energy intensity of public buildings, within the specific objective 4.3.1 Reduction of energy consumption in the operation of public buildings. The subject of the project is the implementation of energy measures aimed at saving energy of the UPJŠ building at Jesenná ul. No. 5 in Košice, which resulted from the energy audit and will contribute to the improvement of the thermal and technical properties of building structures. The project deals with insulation of perimeter walls, roof insulation and replacement of hole fillings.  An important element of the project is the construction of a barrier-free entrance to the building and a significant improvement of its environmental indicators.
