The project “Increasing passive safety on 1st class roads in BB region 2nd stage” addresses the implementation of construction safety measures on the road section I/66 in the BB region of Stage 2 in order to increase safety, reduce accidents, increase smoothness and comfort of transport. The aim of the project is to provide clear, understandable and understandable information about the crossing. This will create more time for the driver in the decision-making process in unexpected intersection situations such as pedestrian collision, driving priority enforcement, etc. The measures will be implemented in two sections: 1st section on road I/66 Zvolen – Banská Bystrica in km 70.00-72.50 and then in km 88.50-114.00. The total length of the proposed section is 28 km.2. the section on the road I/66 Banská Bystrica – Šumiac in km 114.00-166.00. Total length of the covered section 52 km. In total, measures will be implemented on Class I roads (road I/66) in the range of 80 km. The work carried out will focus on: • Crossings (alignment of intersection markings with applicable legislation and upcoming amendments, addition and replacement of vertical and horizontal traffic signs in intersections)• Passive safety elements such as EA terminals, shock absorbers, ZDZ carriers and guardrails• Measures to improve safety in the village (slowing down traffic at the entrance to the village, pedestrian crossings)• Safer traffic management at the point of change of the directional line of the road (directional line – highlighting the directional line of the road)• Undirectional traffic separation trying to prevent frontal collisions• Bridges (vehicles with panel to display information on road and air temperature)
