The main objective of the project is to improve accessibility to TEN-T infrastructure and to the roads of the first class in the Liptov region. The specific objective of the project is the reconstruction and modernisation of road II/584 in order to improve accessibility to the TEN-T network and to the roads of the first class in the Liptov region. The total length of the road is 72,028 km and passes through the districts of Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš and Brezno. It serves as a transport link between Liptov and Orava with a connection to Poland. Road II/584 connects directly to the TEN-T network – corridor Va in Liptovsky Mikulas. In a broader context, the link to the Žilina-Podtatransská development axis. It forms an indirect link to TEN-T to the Rhine-Danube Corridor. The project will reconstruct two sections of road II/584 with a total length of 2.594 km. Reconstruction and modernisation is necessary in order to eliminate collision points, increase traffic fluidity and road users’ safety. Technical provision of implementation of the project will be solved by contractor. The operational and technical sustainability of the project’s outputs throughout the sustainability period will be ensured by the applicant in accordance with the applicable Slovak legislation.
