The proposed section of the reconstruction of the bridge is located on Solivarska Street in Prešov no. road III/3440, the bridge in question bridges the river Sekčov and is located in the cadastral area Prešov and Solivar. Solivarská Street forms the radial of the basic communication system ZÁKOS is located in the southeastern part of the city district Prešov and the city district Solivar. The territory has a slightly wavy character. The transport solution of the city of Prešov is proposed following the trans-regional and regional transport plans enshrined in the ÚPN VÚC Prešovský kraj. The basic communication system (zakos) of the city of Prešov is designed as a radial-circuit system, which consists of three urban circuits complemented by main radials, diagonals and tangentials. Road III/3440 connects roads I/20 and I/68 followed by a link to roads I/80 and D1 (the combined TEN-T network) of the Košice-Prešov Development axis: Prešov – Košice – Čaňa – border Hungary. At the same time, the connection to the TEN-T network Prešov-Giraltovce-Svidník (R4) – Vyšný Komárnik-Barwinek, which is connected to the TEN-T core network, is ensured through road III/3440 and roads I/68 and I/20. In the Prešov self-governing region and in the city of Prešov, which is the third largest city in Slovakia, the road III/3440 constitutes an important urban line, which provides direct connection to the I. class roads and then connects to the TEN-T corridor. The project aims at qualitatively improving the infrastructure ensuring the availability of public services, ensures accessibility to industrial parks, contributes to connecting settlement centres and ensures access to basic social services. Due to the fact that the subject of the project is regional communication ensuring daily commuting, the project also contributes to the creation of jobs, the promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of communities in the region.
