The centre of gravity of the construction works consists of the reconstruction of the roadway, road passes, bridge buildings and walls. The existing roadway II/537 passes through the extravalany and intravilan of several municipalities in the direction from Liptovský Hrádok, where it connects to the road I/18 and the D1 motorway to Tatranská Kotlina, where it is connected to the road I/66. The project in question solves its reconstruction on selected sections from km 33.960-52,000 with a total length of 2,782 km. In the area dealt with on the road II/537 in question, in the current state of the road road, its condition does not satisfy the current traffic load and conditions imposed on road safety. Due to the increasing traffic intensity, the II/537 communication is capacity-friendly in terms of driving quality and there is no need to address its expansion. The road II/537 in question is of regional importance and connects 2 regions Prešov Self-Governing Region and Žilina Self-Governing Region, via roads I/18, I/66 and the D1 motorway, and is a direct connection between towns and villages Liptovský Hrádok and High Tatras and consequently indirect links with the city of Poprad in the districts of Liptovsky Mikulas and Poprad. Road communication in the proposed section connects settlements of the city Liptovský Hrádok, the High Tatras and Poprad. This is a journey which is largely managed by the applicant with a relatively high traffic intensity for Class II and Class III roads. The elimination of security risks on road II/537 will also improve accessibility to first, second and third group settlement centres and their social infrastructure and, last but not least, by the high support of tourism in the region. The implementation of the project will create the conditions for significantly improving the fluidity of public passenger transport by road. The project focuses on the qualitative improvement of infrastructure ensuring the availability of public services, ensures accessibility to industrial parks, contributes to connecting settlement centres, provides access to basic social services and last but not least, the project is aimed at promoting tourism in the region. Due to the fact that the subject of the project is regional communication ensuring daily commuting, the project also contributes to the creation of jobs, the promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of communities in the region.
