The basic task of the project is to transform the system of operation of the city of Nesvady into an intelligent city of the 21st century. The project helps to implement smart city information systems in the structure of the city’s functioning. These will be systems aimed at: Safety; Environment; Public lighting; IoT (parking and smart energy metering); Informing the public. The project represents the construction of a comprehensive IoT platform within the city, which will connect different information systems at different levels, including external integrations, sensors and devices needed for data acquisition and delivery. This will make the city more efficient and improve communication with citizens/public. This brings the city closer to the SMART idea of its functioning. The project is in line with the objectives of Priority Axis 7 of OPII, which will increase the standard and accessibility of city services to citizens and increase the use of smart solutions in city management in terms of safety, environment, public lighting, metering and parking. This will achieve the creation of a smart city using the Internet of Things for cities and public administrations. The target groups of the project are citizens of the city, visitors, city employees (including municipal police officers), entrepreneurs, MIRRI and other public administration institutions. The project will create an analytical and data centre that will collect, store, analyse data from external sensors, cameras and measuring devices. Subsequently, the Centre will provide outputs for decision-making processes in the city, for citizens and visitors, but also for the needs of third parties. Information will be provided in the form of a website, mobile application, LED information panels, datasets sent to data.gov.sk or provided to public institutions upon request. The project will be implemented on the territory of the city of Nesvady.
