The purpose of the project is qualitative and capacity improvement of the important route I/66. It is a widely used transit communication used in the direction of Horehronie and also through Mýto pod Ďumbierom towards Liptov. The territory in the proposed bypass management area can be considered as complicated and fragmented. The segmentation of the territory has the character of hills and mountain environments. Complexity is mainly due to the flowing river Hron and the parallel railway line. The subject of the project is the reconstruction and construction of a bypass with a length of 2,542 km. The route of the bypass is designed mainly in parallel with the territory of the European Importance Alúvium Hron at a distance of about 150 m behind the railway line. At the beginning of the modification, the route is identical to the existing communication on the left bank of the river Hron, and is connected to it in directionally and in height. After bridging Hron and ŽSR track, the route enters the corridor, the southern boundary of which is determined by the area of the former Mostárne Brezno and the northern border consists of the railway line, respectively the railway station Brezno. Beyond the area of the bridge bridge bridge bridge Drábsko-Kabátský potok and maintained railway siding and continues towards the road Osloboditeľov (II/529) leading to the largest housing estate of the city, where in the intersection is finished. In most of its length the path of the road I/66 is led by built-up area. At the beginning of the bypass there is an intersection connecting the proposed route with the road I/66, in km 0.400-0.600 a bridge building over the Hron and the railway line is designed. The route continues in km 0,600-2.010 in the corridor between the railway line and the area of the former Mostárne Brezno. In km 2,050 crosses a small watercourse and railway siding heading to the area of Mostáry. The designed section of the first stage of the bypass of the town of Brezna ends with a circular junction with the road II/529 at the Baldovský Bridge. The proposed bypass will be designed as a two-lane two-way communication in the wide-range according to category C 9,5/80. The town of Brezno is divided into two stages. Construction of the second stage will continue after completion of the first stage. Currently, the bypass of the town of Brezno is divided into three sections within the above two stages.I/66 Brezno – bypass, stage I – solves the project in question. It starts at km 0,000, corresponding to km 128.7 passport of road I/66 and ends in km 2,362 behind the touring junction on Osloboditeľov road (II/529),I/66 Brezno – bypass, Stage II, 1st section, I/66 Brezno – bypass, II. stage, 2nd section.ŽoNFP concerns Part I, i.e. “I/66 Brezno – bypass, Phase I”, namely the 2nd phase of the project, since the project is a continuation of the first phase of the OPD 2007-2013. Measurable indicators of the project sú:Celková length of newly built roads (class 1 roads) – 2,362 km.Total length of reconstructed or renovated roads (class I) – 0.180 km.Percent of physical progress from the total length of new and/or technically evaluated infrastructure – 100 %Number of removed critical accident sites and collision points on Class I roads – 1 location.Saving time in road transport on Class I roads – EUR 4 711 453 in 2022.Emission saving of PM10 (impact of construction of Class I roads) – 1, 645 tonnes.Emission saving NO2 (impact of construction of Class I roads) – 0.116 tonnes.
