The primary objective of the project “Commune Center Postárka, Bardejov” is to improve access of its population, with emphasis on marginalised Roma community, to social infrastructure through the construction of a community centre in the city. The main aim of the project is to promote the social inclusion of the socially disadvantaged population in the city with an emphasis on members of the marginalised Roma population at individual and local level. The project will create spatial and material conditions for the provision of comprehensive social and community services, community development, community and social work, community rehabilitation, as well as for mutual interaction and joint activities of members of the MRC and the majority population in the city. By building a community centre as an open space available to any target group in the city (regardless of age, gender, religion, social status, etc.), it has the potential to help solve the difficult social problems of individuals and entire population groups in Bardejov through its non-discriminatory approach, a wide range of social services and other activities and activities. The activities of the CCC have the ambition to significantly encourage people to take a more active approach to urban events and to be aware of the shared responsibility for the development and prosperity of their settlement community, ultimately for the quality of their lives. The community centre will be situated in the district of post office in the immediate vicinity of the residential zone of urban rental apartments, where members of the MRK live, near the building of family houses, where the majority population lives as well as near the primary school with kindergarten attended by children from MRK. The Elementary School attends 167 pupils and a kindergarten of 44 Roma children. Based on the project documentation of the postárka KC, it is the construction of the KC with maximum requirements for the premises (use area 249.45 m²), while the capacity of the community center building in the implementation of group activities is set at 68 persons. KC will be located in the district of post office, which inhabits ccca 1 450 Roma inhabitants (they occupy e.g. urban housing construction near school facilities). With its localisation, KC will be accessible to all without restrictions. The present project is conceptually fully in line with the global objective of the OP HR, Priority Axis No.6 Technical equipment in municipalities with the presence of marginalised Roma communities and fulfils the objectives of investment priority 6.1. Providing support for the physical, economic and social regeneration of deprived communities in urban and rural areas. It is also in line with the city’s long-term plans set out in the documents of the Bardejov Economic and Social Development Programme 2015-2024 and the Community plan for Bardejov’s social services for 2016-2025.
