The aim of the project ID – R010 II/582 Michalovce – Sobrance is to improve accessibility to the TEN-T road infrastructure and to the roads of the first class with an emphasis on the development of a multimodal transport system through the activity of reconstruction and modernisation of roads II and III. The project is in line with the Regional Integrated Territorial Strategy of Košice Self-Governing Region for 2014-2020 as well as with the conditions set out in the call. The reconstruction of road No II/582 touches the following cadastral areas: Michalovce, Vinné, Kaluža, Klokočov, Kusín, Jovsa, Poruba pod Vihorlát, Jasenov, Rusovce, Sobrance and the target group of the project are mainly residents and companies based in the districts of Michalovce and Sobrance, through which road No. II/582 passes. By implementing measures to improve the safety and fluidity of public passenger transport, the project will also have a positive impact on PPT passengers. The results of the project will also have a positive impact for domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Zemplínska Šírava recreation area. Two measurable indicators are defined within the project, of which the relevant indicator is the total length of reconstructed or renovated roads (class II and III) – 7.62 km.
